In this talk, I am going to introduce pattern formation for some reaction-diffusion equations arising from physics, chemistry or biology. Based on a variational method, I will construct traveling waves for the FitzHugh-Nagumo system and a combustion problem with a multiple-well potential. Moreover, a spot replication problem will be also discussed in the talk.
