伊藤先生がエピジェネティクスに関する本を出版しました
このたび形態機能学講座の伊藤秀臣先生がエピジェネティクスに関する本の1章分を執筆されました。担当したのはChapter 12 – Plant Models of Transgenerational Epigenetic Inheritanceです。以下、伊藤先生からのメッセージです。
今回出版いたしました「Transgenerational Epigenetics」は世代を超えたエピジェネティックな現象を解説する本です。近年、遺伝学では説明できない可逆的な、しかし後代に伝わる生物学的な現象が多数報告されています。その多くは、環境因子が関与する場合が多く、DNAのメチル化やヒストン修飾の変化などが後代に影響を与えるといわれています。この本では、動物、植物における世代を超えたエピジェネティックな現象やヒトの疾病との関係についても解説されており、幅広い分野の読者を対象としております。学生から専門の研究者までエピジェネティックの基礎から学ぶ良い教材となるでしょう。
