Introduction of Research
Mechanically interlocked molecules (MIMs) are molecules mechanically bonded through molecular entanglements that cannot be disassembled into their components without cleaving a covalent bond. During my doctoral studies, I worked on improving the performance of photofunctional materials. Recently, I have achieved to develop a novel molecular machine by precisely controlling the movement of MIMs. In the future, I would like to integrate such supramolecular chemistry with microflow technology, which enables precise control of the kinetics of supramolecular motion and paves the way to unprecedented molecular machines.
